Online Edition of Jacob Bernoulli's Reisebüchlein
Also known as: Reisbüchlein
The Reisebüchlein (little travel book) is a 195-page autograph journal in which Jacob Bernoulli (1654-1705) documented his travels across Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and England between 1676 and 1683. The journal records details of itineraries, accommodations, means of transportation, food, and costs. This digital edition, developed by Sepideh Alassi at the Digital Humanities Lab of the University of Basel, presents the journal as an RDF-star-based, region-based, multilayer, interactive edition with facsimiles, transcriptions, and dynamic visualizations of Bernoulli's journeys.
